Sarah Jensen is a senior consultant for postsecondary policy at the Commit Partnership and the Texas Impact Network. Her role focuses on building capacity across school systems statewide to drive student achievement through successful implementation of research-proven initiatives funded by House Bill 3, the 2019 Texas school finance bill.
Prior to her current role, she served as Commit's Senior Director of College Access and Success where she led efforts to strategically connect K-12 and higher education to better serve students in Dallas County. In that role, she served as lead facilitator of school improvement networks, which she launched in 2016 using training from StriveTogether, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and the Stanford School.
Sarah has widespread experience as an education advocate and is dedicated to expanding students’ access to and success in postsecondary education. As the daughter of a middle school librarian and high school band director, Sarah grew up in a household of public school educators. This led her to believe in every student’s potential and in our community’s responsibility to create systems that help students achieve - particularly students experiencing poverty, first-generation college-going students, and students of color.
Sarah earned a Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Trinity University with a B.A. in Political Science and Communication.
